Minnesota: a familiar abbreviation
MN is also the abbreviation for Minnesota, the Midwestern U.S. state bordering Canada and Lake Superior. With over 10,000 lakes, Lake Itasca at the Mississippi’s source and active business, education, government and arts communities, it offers many local branding possibilities. This is an additional use of Mongolia’s extension.

Use Latin letters, digits (0–9) and hyphens in the label before .MN. Uppercase and lowercase letters are treated as the same name.
A clean beginning and ending
A domain name cannot begin or end with a hyphen. Check availability before submitting the application.
Reserved names
Some names can be registered only under special conditions. The registry publishes the reserved-name list and the conditions that apply.

Registration is instant once payment is complete and all requested documents, including payment confirmation, have been received.
Keep registrant information complete and accurate. The registry may request missing details through the registrar. If they are not provided within seven working days, the registry is authorised to suspend the domain.

The transfer uses an EPP authorisation code. Allow seven working days for completion; the owner can manage the domain through the gaining registrar after the transfer finishes.
Request the EPP code
Obtain the authorisation code from the current registrar and provide it to GlobalR, the gaining registrar.
Approve the request
Both the losing registrar and the administrative contact must approve. Approval by both completes the transfer; refusal by either rejects it.
Receive the result
When the process ends by approval, refusal or timeout, all three parties are notified by email.
The one-week response window
No reply from the losing registrar within one week is treated as approval. No reply from the administrative contact within the same week causes the transfer to be refused.
Check the domain’s age and status
The domain must be active, unlocked and registered for more than 60 days. Domains in deletion or redemption cannot transfer. Requests within two months of registration, a previous transfer or a refused transfer are rejected.
