.DE is ccTLD of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The country is located in the continent of Europe, it covers 348,672 9square kilometers of land and 8,350 square kilometers of water. The official language of the country is German.

Mandatory Requirements for .DE Domain Names

The Domain Name may only contain numbers (0-9), dashes and Latin letters, and its combination,
The Domain Name with capital and lowercase letters are not differentiated between;
The Domain Name shall not start and end with a dash;
The minimum number of symbols for Domain Name is 3 (three) and maximum- 63 (sixty-three).
Other special characters, spaces or stressed vowels (such as à, é, ò, í) are not permitted.

.DE Domain activation

The domain name can be activated when the payment is complete and we have all the requested documents (including the payment confirmation). .de domain names are available for 1 year. The domain registration time frame for .de during general availability is Instant.

Both individuals and companies are allowed to buy and register a domain with a .de extension.

Certain domains are reserved by the registry and can only be registered as Domain Names under special conditions.

Notice: If the Registrar or Registrant submits incomplete information, Registry reserves its right to request from the Registrar to submit respective data. If the requested data is not provided within 7 (seven) working days, the Registry is authorized to suspend functioning of the Domain Name.

Private Whois Registration

At present, .de domain zone does not provide means to hide the information of the domain owner. All information (name, address, email, etc.) will be displayed in WHOIS.

Domain Transfer from registrar to registrar

The transfer process performs based on EPP code. The registrant should request the code from the losing registrar and provide the gaining one.

The transfer code is valid for 7 days only. So, if it expires it needs to be generated again. The transfer process completed in 7 working days. Only after that, the domain can be managed by the owner.

Domain Renewal

If the Registrant via the intermediation does not renew the domain name, it will be Suspended during the 30 (thirty) days period from the expiry date of the domain name registration. After the lapse of the 30 (thirty) days period, the Registry is obliged to cancel domain name registration and delete data related to the domain name from the Domain Name Register. The domain will become available for everyone.
