.KR is the ccTLD of Republic of Korea.

• The Domain Name may only contain numbers (0-9), dashes and Latin letters, and its combination,
• The Domain Name with capital and lowercase letters are not differentiated between;
• The Domain Name shall not start and end with a dash;
• The minimum number of symbols for Domain Name is 3 (three) and maximum 63 (sixty-three);
• Other special characters, spaces or stressed vowels (such as à, é, ò, í) are not permitted.

The domain name can be activated when the payment is complete and we have all the requested documents (including the payment confirmation). .kr domain names are available for 1-10 years. The domain registration time frame for .kr during general availability is 1 Day. 

Trustee Service is available for this extension. Registrants must have a local presence within South Korea; varying restrictions exist for registration under different second-level names.

Certain domains are reserved by the registry and can only be registered as Domain Names under special conditions.

Private Whois Registration

At present, the .kr domain zone does not provide means to hide the information of the domain owner. All information (name, address, email, etc.) will be displayed in WHOIS.

Domain Renewal

If the Registrant via the intermediation does not renew the domain name, it will be Suspended during the 30 (thirty) days period from the expiry date of the domain name registration. After the lapse of the 30 (thirty) days period, the Registry is obliged to cancel domain name registration and delete data related to the domain name from the Domain Name Register. The domain will become available for everyone.
